Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing up a move for Espanyol winger Javi Puado amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Son Heung-min in North London.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Espanyol attacker Javi Puado.

The 26-year-old has played the entirety of his professional career in Spain, enjoying his best-ever campaign in terms of goals during 2023-24.

Puado found the net on 16 occasions across 38 La Liga 2 matches, helping Espanyol to secure a return to the top flight following a one-year absence.

The left winger has started this campaign brightly also, scoring three goals across eight La Liga appearances, all of which arrived during the 3-2 win over Deportivo Alaves on September 14.

Owing to a knee injury, Puado is currently on the sidelines for Espanyol, targeting a return to action sometime after November's international break.

Tottenham keeping tabs on Espanyol's Puado?

According to Football Transfers, Tottenham are eyeing up Espanyol star Puado as a potential option to bolster the attacking options in North London.

The report claims that the 26-year-old has caught the attention of the Spurs whilst the Premier League club were watching on-loan striker Alejo Veliz at Espanyol.

It is understood that Ange Postecoglou's side could make a January or summer swoop for Puado, who sees his contract with Espanyol expire at the end of the season.

Despite an interest in the Spaniard, Tottenham's main priority is supposedly to secure the long-term future of club legend Son before the summer.

It is believed that Spurs are preparing to trigger a one-year extension in the South Korean's terms, keeping him in North London until at least June 2026.

Son remains from the old Tottenham

With the club's all-time leading goalscorer Harry Kane departing to Bayern Munich for £100m last summer, Son became the last survivor of a Tottenham side that defined the club prior to Postecoglou.

Despite the loss of a great player alongside him, the Korean showed no signs of letting up for the Lilywhites, scoring 17 Premier League goals last season.

Due to a muscle injury, Son is not featuring for South Korea over the international break, with the winger hoping to be available at some point later in the month.
