Bournemouth reportedly emerge as the favourites to secure a deal for Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott.

Bournemouth are reportedly regarded as the current frontrunners to secure a deal for Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott.

Ever since moving to Ashton Gate in 2020, Scott has established himself as one of the top prospects plying their trade in the Championship.

In the last two seasons, the 20-year-old has played 80 times in the second tier of English football, contributing five goals and seven assists during that period.

However, his performances in general have also caught the eye of many Premier League clubs and teams on the continent, making a transfer in the future inevitable.

With two years left on Scott's contract, Bristol City currently sit in a position where they do not necessarily have to feel forced to cash in on the England Under-20 international at this stage.

Nevertheless, it was been widely reported that a proposal worth in the region of £25m may be enough to tempt the Robins hierarchy into parting ways with their most prized asset.

Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United or Wolverhampton Wanderers have seemed to be the most likely destination for Scott, the latter having held an interest since January.

That said, according to TEAMtalk, Bournemouth are ready to be proactive in the race to secure Scott's signature this summer.

The report suggests that the Cherries hierarchy are open to paying the alleged £25m valuation in order to ensure that they steal a march on their more illustrious rivals.

Andoni Iraola has just arrived as the new head coach at the Vitality Stadium and the Spaniard is expected to be backed in the transfer market by the South-coast outfit's new owners.

As it stands, Hamed Traore has had his loan stint from Sassuolo converted into a permanent deal, while winger Justin Kluivert has arrived from Roma.

Bournemouth are a man down in midfield, though, with Jefferson Lerma having departed for Crystal Palace on a free transfer after a five-year stay.

West Ham and Wolves may be in a position to match Bournemouth in due course, with the former waiting for Declan Rice to complete his £105m transfer to Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Wolves are yet to replace Ruben Neves, who has joined Al-Hilal in a £47m deal, with the West Midlands outfit having recently gotten back on a sound footing with FFP through further sales.
