The 26-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Spain, while he has not featured for Tottenham in their pre-season campaign thus far.
"I don't like the situation that he is in at all, he has not played any matches at all this summer. He will end up signing for Madrid before the market shuts," Stimac told AS.
Modric has scored 13 goals in 127 games for Spurs.
