Tottenham Hotspur had a deadline day bid for Lille attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal rejected, according to reports.
Spurs were supposedly looking to add to their striking options in the summer and according to Foot 365, they made a move for the Frenchman after they failed to sign West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino.
It is believed that Tottenham offered €16m (£11.8m) for the 22-year-old but there are suggestions that the Ligue 1 club believe that they can command a higher fee next summer.
The former Angers player has scored three goals in eight appearances so far this season for Lille.
