Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly held discussions with Flamengo over a move for Gerson.
The 22-year-old joined Roma from Fluminense in 2016 but struggled to impress in Italy and returned to Brazil with Flamengo in July.
The attacker was part of the side that lost 1-0 to Liverpool in the Club World Cup final on Saturday, while he has made 35 appearances for the club in all competitions since returning from Europe.
According to 90min, Tottenham have been impressed with Gerson's form over the last few months, and the London club have held talks over a potential January swoop.
The report claims that Spurs are prepared to allow the former Brazil Under-20 international to remain with his current side for the rest of the campaign if they manage to secure a deal next month.
Jose Mourinho's team are in Premier League action against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
