Tottenham Hotspur-linked midfielder Nahitan Nandez could be on his way out of Cagliari in January, according to the player's agent.
The Uruguay international was strongly linked with a move to North London in the summer transfer window before Spurs opted to move for Metz youngster Pape Sarr instead.
However, Nandez's agent Pablo Bentancur claims that Cagliari are willing to let the 25-year-old head for the exit door in January, but he could elect to remain in Serie A rather than head for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Speaking to Calcio Napoli 24, Bentancur said: "Giulini has promised the player and me to do everything possible so that he leaves in the January market. Nandez wants to win something; he wants to play in the Champions League. The president has given us his word.
"There are two or three clubs that will look for Nandez in January, including Napoli. I would be happy to see him in blue, definitely. But Giulini has now understood the situation, we hope that in January there may be some movement, we hope in the direction of Naples.
"I think he will sell at a lower price than the one requested, there is a €36million [£31m] clause. But yesterday the president has talked to Nandez and told him he will lower the price and let him go."
Nandez's existing deal at Cagliari is due to expire in the summer of 2024, and he has amassed four goals and seven assists from 79 games at the club since his arrival from Boca Juniors in 2019.
