Nice attacker Alassane Plea has reportedly rejected interest from Premier League clubs to instead join Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 25-year-old is believed to have been on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, while Fulham and West Ham United have also been linked in the past.
According to Get French Football News, however, Gladbach have surprisingly won the race after reaching a £20m agreement with Nice, which will also see Lyon receive around £3.5m as part of their sell-on clause.
Plea, who scored 21 times in Ligue 1 last season to help the Eagles to an eighth-place finish, is said to have agreed terms of a four-year deal.
Teams from England are understood to have offered more for the player, but Nice respected his wishes to move to the Bundesliga.
