Tottenham Hotspur 'open contract talks with Oliver Skipp'

Tottenham Hotspur open 'preliminary talks' with teenage midfielder Oliver Skipp over a new contract, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly opened 'preliminary talks' with Oliver Skipp over a new contract.

The 19-year-old, who came through the youth system at Spurs, has featured on 20 occasions for Jose Mourinho's side in all competitions, including eight appearances during the 2019-20 campaign.

Skipp's existing deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will expire in June 2021, but according to Football Insider, talks over a potential new contract with the capital giants have been opened.

The report claims that Tottenham have been impressed by Skipp's development over the last 12 months and are keen to tie him to a long-term deal as soon as possible.

The teenager penned a three-year contract in August 2018 before making his professional debut against West Ham United in the EFL Cup two months later.

Skipp has also been capped on three occasions by England's Under-21 side.
