DeAndre Yedlin to join Tottenham Hotspur in January

Tottenham confirm that USA defender DeAndre Yedlin will join the club in January.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that USA international defender DeAndre Yedlin will join the club in January.

The Seattle Sounders full-back, 21, agreed a four-year deal with the Premier League side back in the summer.

Yedlin, who was part of the USA squad at the 2014 World Cup, has made 10 appearances for his country.

"He is a young player with great potential who has already achieved a lot in the MLS," Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino told the club's official website. "It is important for his development that he is given the time to adapt to his new surroundings both on and off the pitch. We believe that by coming to us in January it will give him the best opportunity to do so."

Tottenham are back in action on Boxing Day when they travel to Leicester City in the league.
