Richard Brittain double downs St Johnstone

Ross County's Richard Brittain scores two penalties to deny St Johnstone, who have signed a pre-contract agreement with the midfielder, all three points.

Ross County captain Richard Brittain scored two penalty kicks to deny potential future employers St Johnstone all three points at McDiarmid Park.

Brittain has been attempting to persuade St Johnstone to cancel the pre-contract agreement that he signed with them in January.

His relationship with the Perth club worsened further on 14 minutes when he beat goalkeeper Alan Mannus with a precise spot-kick, after Steven Anderson had brought down Iain Vigurs.

Steven MacLean had earlier headed the Saints into a sixth-minute lead.

The hosts restored their advantage midway through the first half, as Mehdi Abeid crossed for Murray Davidson, who nodded home.

However, Brittain had the final word, drilling another penalty beyond Mannus, after Ivan Sproule had been brought down by Thomas Scobbie.
