Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland has been ruled out for at least four weeks after sustaining a broken finger.
Butland had hoped to represent England in either or both of their friendly internationals with Germany and Brazil in the coming week before picking up the injury in training on Thursday.
The 24-year-old has since been further assessed and Butland will now miss between four and six weeks of action, potentially ruling the stopper out until Christmas.
In March 2016, the former Birmingham City sustained a broken ankle during a friendly with Germany, an injury which kept him on the sidelines for over a year.
However, Butland has made 11 starts in the Premier League this season, including keeping two clean sheets against Arsenal and Watford respectively.
