Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has heaped praise on transfer target Glen Johnson.
Reports suggest that the ex-Liverpool right-back is on the verge of a move to the Potteries, and Hughes believes that he has the attributes to help the club improve.
He told Sky Sports News: "Glen's a very experienced player. We obviously feel the qualities he has will help us. We are a team that's trying to progress and we do that by getting good players into the squad.
"Glen is a player who has played at a high level for a very long time and we can benefit from that."
The Potters have already signed Jakob Haugaard, Philipp Wollscheid, Joselu, Marco van Ginkel and Shay Given this summer.
