Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has revealed that he currently considers Cameron Jerome to be ahead of Michael Owen in the pecking order for a starting place in his side's attack.
Jermone came off the bench to score Stoke's winning goal in their 2-1 victory over Newcastle United on Wednesday and despite Owen returning to fitness after injury, Pulis has revealed that he will reward Jerome for his patience for a first-team opportunity.
Pulis told reporters: "Cameron has been training and it's not fair that Michael steps in because of his name.
"I was really pleased for Cameron the other night because he has been very patient and could have gone out on loan but we stopped that because we needed him here."
Stoke travel to The Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.
