Stoke City chief executive Tony Scholes has said that he is "delighted" that Charlie Adam has signed a new contract with the club.
The midfielder penned a one-year extension, which keeps him at the Britannia Stadium until the end of the 2016-17 Premier League season, with an option for a further 12 months.
Scholes told the club's website: "We are delighted that Charlie has decided to extend his stay with us. It's clear to see he's enjoying playing under the management of Mark Hughes and feels at home at the Britannia Stadium.
"Charlie is a big fans' favourite and I'm sure they will be pleased as we are that he is staying for at least another two years, if not longer."
The 29-year-old joined Stoke from Liverpool in 2012.
