Stoke City have hit Kenwyne Jones with a heavy fine after he failed to turn up for their match at the weekend.
The striker, who is out of contract at the end of the season, missed the club's 5-3 defeat to Liverpool at the Britannia on Sunday.
According to the Daily Mail, Jones has been slapped with a punishment of two week's wages, equating to £80,000, for texting manager Mark Hughes on Saturday declaring that he was unavailable for the match.
Club officials were shocked when Jones stood to his word and never arrived at Stoke's pre-match meal at the training ground.
Stoke are under the impression that Jones may have lined up his next potential destination, with Everton being touted as a possibility.
