Stoke City's Erik Pieters "open" to new contract talks

Pieters "open" to new contract talks

Erik Pieters has revealed that he would be prepared to listen to any new contract offer that Stoke City wanted to make him.

The Dutch full-back's current deal at the Britannia Stadium is due to expire in the summer of 2017.

However, following speculation that the Potters are eager to retain his services, the 27-year-old has hinted that he is keen to commit his future to the club.

"I will always consider because I feel at home and am always open to talk to Stoke City," he told The Sentinel.

"I don't know when, I will wait and see. This club gave me my opportunity to play in the Premier League and so I am always listening."

Netherlands international Pieters joined Stoke from PSV Eindhoven for £3m in 2013.
