Stoke City will not renew Michael Owen's contract at the end of the season, according to a report.
The 33-year-old's deal is up in the summer and the Potters will not offer the former England striker an extension on his pay-as-you-play deal, reports the Daily Mail.
Owen could retire at the end of the season with the former Liverpool forward currently preparing for it by getting involved in punditry work for the BBC.
Owen, who won the Ballon d'Or in 2001, has not started a game at the Britannia Stadium since joining in September.
