Huub Stevens parts company with Stuttgart

Stuttgart announce that Huub Stevens will leave the club after guiding them to Bundesliga safety.

Stuttgart have announced that head coach Huub Stevens will depart the club after leading them to Bundesliga survival.

Stevens guided Stuttgart to a 2-1 victory at Paderborn yesterday afternoon - a result which relegated the home side.

It was the second time that Stevens had steered the club clear of relegation, having kept them up during a 10-match spell last season.

Stuttgart sporting director Robin Dutt told the club's official website: "Huub has done outstanding work here.

"He not only managed us twice in the league, but working with him was great. For this reason alone we owe him a great debt of gratitude."

Stevens took charge of Stuttgart in November, with the club rock bottom of the league.
