Stuttgart come from behind to earn point at home

Vedad Ibisevic misses an injury-time penalty as Stuttgart draw 1-1 with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

Vedad Ibisevic missed an injury-time penalty as Stuttgart came from behind to rescue a point at home to Eintracht Frankfurt with a 1-1 draw in the Bundesliga.

Marco Russ gave the away side a shock lead in the 14th minute after slack defending allowed the German the chance to wriggle free and poke the ball home from close range.

The lead lasted just two minutes, though, as Timo Werner nodded home to level the scores.

After the break, Stefan Aigner sent a teasing cross into the path of Vaclav Kadlec, but the forward could not quite stretch enough to get on the end of the pass.

Ibisevic should have done better than blaze over from 12 yards in the 83rd minute, but the striker had the chance to redeem himself from the penalty spot in stoppage time.

However, the Bosnian forward dragged his effort well wide of the post as the chance to win the game went begging.
