Simon Mignolet has expressed his happiness at Sunderland's 3-0 victory over fellow strugglers Reading at the Stadium of Light last night.
Heading into the encounter the Black Cats had been on a negative run of form that had seen them drop in the Premier League's relegation zone.
However, yesterday's win has seen Sunderland move up to 15th - something that has delighted the Belgian keeper.
"Three points, a clean sheet at home and three goals. That's what we needed and everyone did their jobs tonight," he told the club's official website. "Early goals haven't happened too often this season but it made the game easier for us.
"Reading had to attack us and come out of their shells but we all stuck to our jobs.
"It was never going to be an easy game. We really wanted to get the win and we did that. Now we're looking forward to the next couple of games to come."
Next up for Sunderland is a trip to Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.
