Sebastian Larsson pleased with point in Leicester City clash

Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson feels that his side showed mental toughness to secure a valuable point in their Premier League season against Leicester City.

Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson believes that his side gained a valuable point in their goalless draw with Leicester City.

The Black Cats extended their unbeaten record in the Premier League to three matches, but it could have been better for Gus Poyet's men had Steven Fletcher taken the chances that came his way at the King Power Stadium.

However, Larsson feels that luck was not on Sunderland's side in front of goal, but feels that it was vital that they showed mental toughness to hold out for the point.

"Any point away from home is a point gained," Larsson told the club's official website. "Obviously we are a little disappointed because we thought we should have won the game but our performance was very good.

"I felt we did enough to win the game but we just couldn't finish it off today, especially in the first half when we really controlled the game and created some really good opportunities.

"It just wasn't our day in front of goal but on the other hand we stayed strong at the back and didn't concede which is always difficult away from home, so overall there are positives to take and we move forward."

Sunderland are 14th in the Premier League following their draw at the King Power Stadium.
