Real Sociedad boss David Moyes has turned down the chance to become the manager of Sunderland, according to a report.
The Black Cats are in search of a new manager after Dick Advocaat decided against extending his stay at the Stadium of Light beyond the end of the season.
Sunderland chairman Ellis Short and sporting director Lee Congerton had lined up the Scot for a return to the Premier League, with the American prepared to give Moyes significant funds in the transfer market.
However, the 52-year-old has declined the opportunity to manage the Wearsiders due to being happy with his position with the La Liga side, reports the Daily Mail.
Sunderland are also reportedly interested in former Real Madrid assistant boss Paul Clement.
