Danny Rose: 'Sunderland will improve'

Sunderland defender Danny Rose has insisted that the Black Cats will improve as the season wares on.

The 22-year-old, who is on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, has also praised the recent performances of five-goal striker Steven Fletcher.

"There are new faces. Steven Fletcher has been unbelievable and as soon as we get Adam Johnson match-fit, I can see him being great for Sunderland. We are still growing and everyone is getting fitter and we will see where it takes us in a few weeks," Rose told Sky Sports News.

Rose made four appearances for Team GB at the Olympics this summer.
