Sunderland defender Marcos Alonso has insisted that he and his teammates will "keep fighting" to retain their Premier League status next season.
The Black Cats, who are currently at the foot of the league table with 26 points from 33 matches, lost 1-0 to Everton last weekend and drew 2-2 with Manchester City on Wednesday.
"We were very unlucky with Man City's last goal," the 23-year-old told the Sunderland Echo. "We absolutely deserved the win.
"But we just have to keep fighting and get focused for tomorrow and the game against Chelsea. Everton only had a couple of chances, but we went home with zero points.
"At Man City, again we deserved more, but we just need to concentrate on the small details which can change the game one way or the other."
Sunderland will take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in London on Saturday.
