Sunderland are poised to appoint Dick Advocaat as manager until the end of the season, the former Netherlands boss to earn half a million pounds if he keeps them in the Premier League, according to reports.
The 67-year-old, who also used to manage Scottish giants Rangers, is available after stepping down as Serbia's coach last November.
According to the Daily Mail, Advocaat will take the reins at the Stadium of Light this week and will land up to £500,000 if the Black Cats avoid the drop.
Sunderland parted ways with former boss Gus Poyet on Monday, the club lurking perilously above the Premier League drop zone.
