Carlos Cuellar has revealed that he would like to stay with Sunderland next season, regardless of which division the club is in.
The Spaniard, who has spent the last two campaigns with the Black Cats, is due to become a free agent during the summer.
However, despite the fact that the Wearsiders are the favourites to be relegated to the Championship, the centre-back has insisted that he would be happy to sign a new contract at the Stadium of Light.
"I would like to be here whatever division we are in, but I am not asking the club what they are doing because the main focus has to be on this season," The Sun quotes the 32-year-old as saying.
Cuellar has made just five appearances in all competitions this season.
