Former Sunderland forward Asamoah Gyan has insisted that he has no regret at leaving the Premier League for United Arab Emirates side Al Ain.
The 27-year-old left the Stadium of Light in 2011 on a loan move, which was swiftly turned into a permanent deal.
"I don't regret quitting the English Premier League at all," the Sunderland Echo quotes Gyan as saying. "I am comfortable and happy there, and most importantly I deliver when I come to the Black Stars.
"My decision to move to the Arab world bordered on my family and what was good for me and not what people said or will say. Some people listen to friends in taking critical decisions and they mess up in the end."
Gyan has helped guide Al Ain to back-to-back titles since joining the club.
