Sunderland eye Shaun Maloney?

Sunderland are reportedly interested in a summer move for Wigan Athletic attacker Shaun Maloney.

The 30-year-old, who has been a key figure in Roberto Martinez's team this season, signed a new deal at the DW Stadium last month.

However, Martin O'Neill will test the Latics' resolve with a bid of around £2.5m should they be relegated from the Premier League, according to The Mirror.

Maloney, who has 24 caps for Scotland, joined Wigan from Celtic in 2011.
