Sunderland have reportedly identified Reading midfielder George Evans as a potential summer signing.
New boss Jack Ross is currently looking to reshape a squad which suffered relegation from the Championship last season, and eight new arrivals have already come through the door at the Stadium of Light.
However, Ross is far from finished and according to the Sunderland Echo, Evans appears to be the next player who will join the Black Cats this summer.
Evans has made 59 appearances in the Championship since January 2016, but the 23-year-old now finds himself down the pecking order with Paul Clement making major changes to his squad ahead of the next campaign.
The former Manchester City trainee also has just 12 months remaining on his contract, and that has allegedly led to the Royals accepting an offer from Sunderland.
