Sunderland have reportedly tabled a late offer for Sheffield United striker Ched Evans as they continue their push for promotion in the second half of the campaign.
The 30-year-old is currently on a season-long loan with Sunderland's League One rivals Fleetwood Town, where he has contributed 11 goals in 25 games to date.
According to BBC Sport, the Black Cats have contacted Sheffield over a possible transfer and requested that he be recalled from loan in order to push a deal through before tomorrow's deadline.
Sunderland have already failed with bids for Will Grigg and John Marquis this month as they look for more firepower up front and gain promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
Jack Ross's side currently sit fifth in League One, albeit four points off second-placed Portsmouth with two games in hand.
