Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal has confirmed that Renato Sanches will play no part in this weekend's Premier League game against Leicester City.
The 20-year-old is dealing with a muscular problem that he suffered during the Welsh club's 1-1 draw with Notts County last Saturday.
"Renato has not had an MRI scan yet because we gave him some time to recover," Carvalhal told the club's official website. "He will have the scan on Friday and then we will now exactly what the problem is, but we can say for sure that he will not play against Leicester."
Sanches arrived at the Liberty Stadium from Bayern Munich on loan last summer with plenty of promise, but he is yet to live up to expectations.
In total, the Portugal international has started just nine Premier League games.
