Sports Mole previews the League Cup clash between Swansea City of the Premier League and the Championship's Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough's trip to Swansea City tomorrow night will be their 12th consecutive Capital One Cup tie away from the Riverside Stadium.

The encounter with Swansea will also provide Tony Mowbray's side with their first opportunity to reach the semi-final of the competition for the first time since 2004.

However, if they are to achieve that feat, they will have to do so without the services of loanee midfielder Josh McEachran.

Experienced centre-back Jonathan Woodgate may also not be risked by Mowbray, which in turn could hand a starting opportunity to Seb Hines at the back.

Ashley Williams, who has a one-match suspension, will be absent for hosting Swansea. Leon Britton and Pablo Hernandez are also struggling with injuries and are not expected to be passed fit.

These two teams have met on 41 occasions, with Boro edging their hosts by 18 victories to 14.

Recent form

Swansea: LWWDW

Middlesbrough: WLWLL

Possible starting lineups

Swansea: Tremmel; Rangel, Chico, Monk, Davies; Dyer, Ki, De Guzman, Routledge; Michu; Graham

Middlesbrough: Steele; Parnaby, Hines, Bikey, Friend; Ledesma, Leadbitter, Bailey, Haroun; Miller, McDonald

Sports Mole says: 3-1
