Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony has revealed that Ivory Coast teammate Didier Drogba has backed his move to the Liberty Stadium.
Bony completed a £12m transfer from Vitesse Arnhem on Thursday, and the prolific frontman has admitted that he sought advice from the former Chelsea player after sealing a deal to move to the Premier League.
The 24-year-old told reporters: "Didier had a big career and scored a lot of goals in the Premier League, but I hope to do the same or more.
"I have spoken to him. He said congratulations and that he is proud of me. He is a big inspiration for me. I have to listen to his advice and try to do what I can by giving my best.
"Didier said Swansea was a good team who play very good football. There are not many teams in the UK who play like that. He said he knows how I play and I will enjoy playing for Swansea. He thinks I have made a good decision."
Bony has scored eight goals in 20 appearances for his national side.
