Swansea City midfielder Leroy Fer urges the club's supporters to stick with the team after they voiced their anger during the 3-1 home defeat to Manchester United.

Swansea City midfielder Leroy Fer has urged the supporters to stick with the team following their 3-1 defeat to Manchester United at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

A large proportion of the fans voiced their displeasure during an abject first-half display that left Bob Bradley's side three goals down at the interval, with much of their vitriol directed at the club's new owners.

Fer believes that the reaction is "normal" due to the team's recent form, which has seen them fail to win in the league since the opening day, but hopes that they will continue to back the team as they look to turn their fortunes around.

"If you don't get the points you know the crowd are not going to be happy. That's what they showed, but I think that's a normal reaction," he told reporters.

"I hope they stick with us and keep us going. If you play well and try every game then the fans are going to be behind because they see it. We're in the bottom three so we know we have to fight. The next couple of weeks is going to be vital."

Swansea are currently joint bottom of the Premier League table, already six points adrift of safety.
