Swansea City winger Jefferson Montero has revealed that he is eager for the new season to start, despite his hectic summer schedule.
The 25-year-old played for Ecuador in the Copa America, although his side failed to advance beyond the group stage in Chile.
Montero recently returned to training for the Swans and has had only 70 minutes of game time, but he feels that he is more than prepared for the Premier League campaign.
"There was not much time to rest but I had the time I needed," Montero told the club's official website. "I feel very good and I had time to spend time with my family after the Copa America.
"There was the World Cup last year too, but I am very proud to play for my country and I will always try to compete. Now I am happy to be playing for Swansea again and I feel ready.
"I want to play more games last year and it was hard not to be on the pitch when I had injuries. I did play a lot of minutes but hopefully I can play more and it can show in my performances."
Swansea open their Premier League season against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next week.
