Wayne Routledge has admitted that it was "very pleasing" for Swansea City to secure a late winner in yesterday's match against Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Bafetimbi Gomis scored the only goal of the match in the 87th minute to hand Swansea a 1-0 win following back-to-back league defeats.
Routledge told the club's official website: "It was important to put a performance in and get the three points after two losses.
"Every Premier League game is difficult, so it dig in and win the way we did was very pleasing. The 40-point mark isn't a stopping point for us, we want to get as many points as possible before the end of the season.
"We always create chances, we kept a clean sheet and scored the crucial goal, so it's a nice feeling."
The result moves Swansea up to eighth in the table, four points shy of their record Premier League points tally.
