Former Wales international Iwan Roberts has claimed that Swansea City are facing a battle against relegation this season.
The Swans have claimed just one win from their previous 10 games in the Premier League to slip down to 15th in the table.
They lost for the third time in four games in suffering a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, but manager Garry Monk has denied any suggestions that they will be fighting against the drop.
However, Roberts has urged Monk to realise that his team are in a perilous situation and believes that they have a difficult season ahead of them to retain their top-flight status.
"He needs to wake up, I think, because they're right in it, they really are," Roberts told BBC Sport.
"Only Villa in the bottom six have got a worse record in the last 10 games than Swansea.
"For him to say they're not in a relegation fight - they're four points from the bottom three - they're right in amongst it."
Swansea finished eighth in the Premier League last season, with a club record tally of 56 points.
