Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has refused to confirm his interest in Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones despite being linked with a move for the player.
Reports suggested that the Swans had a bid knocked back by Tony Pulis's side for the Trinidad & Tobago international.
The teams will meet in the Premier League at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
"[Jones] will probably play. Maybe if he can play with us it can be 12 against 10 but I don't think that will happen," he told reporters.
"Let's just say it is not the proper time to talk about a player when he is playing against us in around 24 hours' time.
"Let's hope tomorrow he does not have too good a day as it is better for us."
Jones has made 17 appearances for the Potters this season, scoring five goals.
