Former Swansea City striker Michu is thought to be close to agreeing a deal to move to Spanish second-tier side Real Oviedo.
The 30-year-old was a revelation for the Swans when he joined in 2012, scoring 19 Premier League goals in his debut season to be named the Welsh side's player of the year.
Michu subsequently fell out of favour with then-manager Michael Laudrup and was loaned out to Italian giants Napoli, where he drew a blank in three Serie A appearances.
The Spaniard was finally released by Swansea last November and he moved to amateur fourth-tier Spanish outfit UP Langreo, managed by his brother Hernan.
In 16 appearances, Michu netted nine times and that form has caught the attention of Oviedo, who are planning for a push to the top flight this season after a disappointing ninth-place finish in the Segunda last term.
