Swindon Town see off Notts County thanks to Andy Williams penalty

Swindon Town beat Notts County 3-0 thanks to an Andy Williams penalty and goals from Harry Toffolo and John Swift.

Swindon turned on the style in the second half as they easily saw off the challenge of Notts County this afternoon.

Wes Foderingham kept Notts County at bay almost straight away, first saving Gary Jones's close-range volley, then palming Liam Noble's follow-up away.

The Notts defence then misjudged a long ball but Andy Williams, who was clear through on goal, could only shoot wide.

Swindon picked up the pace after the break, and were rewarded when John Swift cut inside to fire an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the goal.

Five minutes later Andy Williams was brought down in the area by Blair Adams, who received a yellow card, and Williams dusted himself off to step up and fire the penalty into the net.

Noble then received two bookings in the space of two minutes to be shown a red card, before Harry Toffolo raced down the other end to grab Swindon's third.

The 3-0 win means that Swindon rise to third in the league and Notts County drop down to 19th, six points off the relegation zone.
