Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Pascal Chimbonda has reportedly turned down the chance to join League One club Swindon Town.
The 33-year-old, who also had spells at Wigan Athletic, Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers, has been without a club since his short-term deal with Doncaster Rovers expired at the end of last season.
According to The Mirror, Chimbonda rejected an offer from the Robins because he believes that he is capable of playing at a higher level.
As well as being capped once at senior international level, Chimbonda was part of the France squad that finished as runners-up at World Cup 2006.
