Sydney FC ease into A-League Grand Final by hammering Adelaide United

Two goals from captain Alex Brosque help Sydney FC into the A-League Grand Final with a 4-1 win over Adelaide United.

Sydney FC have eased into the A-League Grand Final with a 4-1 triumph over Adelaide United at the Allianz Stadium.

Graham Arnold's side will now face Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park on May 17 to determine the new champions of Australia.

The hosts took the lead on 19 minutes when Bernie Ibini-Isei scored his fourth goal in four games with a powerful finish from the edge of the box following a quick counter-attack.

Sydney then doubled their advantage on the stroke of half time through captain Alex Brosque, who converted a cross from the right with a clever backheel.

The home team came flying out of the traps at the start of the second period, and they sealed their progress on 47 minutes as Brosque was on hand to fire in from six yards for his second goal of the game.

Adelaide reduced the deficit with 15 minutes left thanks to Craig Goodwin, but it was Sydney who had the final say when Chris Naumoff found the net in stoppage time to make it 4-1.
