The Football Association has scrapped plans for Great Britain football teams to compete at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Great Britain fielded men and women's teams at the London 2012 Olympics and the FA planned to do similar in Rio but failed to gain support from the Northern Irish, Scottish and Welsh FAs.
The Scottish FA feared that a unified Great Britain team would threaten their independent status within FIFA competition, telling BBC Sport that the FA "underestimated the strength of feelings from the other home nations".
The 2012 squads consisted mainly of English players. The men's team included five Welshmen while two Scots turned out for the women's team.
