Aritz Aduriz not in Athletic Bilbao squad for Torino clash

Athletic Bilbao boss Ernesto Valverde leaves leading scorer Aritz Aduriz out of his Europa League squad for Thursday's last-32 first leg against Torino.

Athletic Bilbao's leading scorer Aritz Aduriz has been left out of the Basque side's squad for Thursday's Europa League last-32 first leg against Torino.

The Spaniard is reportedly not injured, but has instead been rested by Ernesto Valverde following a congested fixture list in recent weeks.

Markel Susaeta has also been left out of the travelling party, while Ander Iturraspe and Mikel Balenziaga have both missed out due to injuries.

Bilbao have struggled in La Liga this season, but they are in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, with Valverde now tasked with juggling three competitions.

The Basque side were eliminated in the group stages of this season's Champions League.
