Tranmere Rovers chairman Mark Palios eyes quick return to Football League

Tranmere Rovers owner Mark Palios insists that they club is capable of making a swift return to the Football League following their relegation to the Conference.

Tranmere Rovers chairman Mark Palios remains upbeat despite the club's relegation to the Conference Premier.

The Whites' 94-year stint in the Football League came to an end this afternoon when they lost 3-2 away to Plymouth Arglye, but Palios is determined to steer them towards a swift return to League Two.

"For all of the fans and for myself it feels devastating today," he told Sky Sports News. "But tomorrow the sun will come up. It's not a disaster tomorrow.

"The fans away today gave me a humbling experience and something that makes me even more determined to make sure we get back as quick as we can."

Tranmere have featured in the Football League since 1921, coming close to securing a place in the Premier League via the playoffs on three occasions and reaching the League Cup final in 2000.

The club's second successive relegation comes one week after they sacked manager Micky Adams.
