Monday morning's Premier League transfer talk news roundup:

Chelsea put £40m asking price on Ross Barkley?

Aston Villa will reportedly have to fork out £40m if they want to land Chelsea's Ross Barkley on a permanent deal in the summer.

The former Everton man has played a starring role for Dean Smith's European-chasing side since arriving on loan, chalking up three goals and one assist in the Premier League.

Owing to his impressive performances, Villa are understood to be keen to strike a permanent move for Barkley, although the Blues are not willing to let their fringe player leave on the cheap.

According to 90Min, Chelsea are open to letting the 27-year-old depart, but Villa cannot expect to secure his services for anything less than £40m this summer.

Such a figure would surpass the club's current transfer record - £28m for Ollie Watkins - but the report adds that it remains to be seen if new Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants to bring Barkley back into the fold or not.

Barkley's current deal at Stamford Bridge will expire at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

Real Madrid 'will not move for Kylian Mbappe until Paris Saint-Germain are willing to sell'

Real Madrid have reportedly signalled to Paris Saint-Germain that they will not make a move for Kylian Mbappe until the French champions are willing to sell.

The 22-year-old's future in Paris remains the subject of much speculation, with his current deal in the French capital due to expire in the summer of 2022.

A recent report claimed that Mbappe was prepared to sign a new long-term deal with PSG with a view to joining the Spanish champions within the next two years.

Madrid are unlikely to have the required funds to sign the France international this year due to the financial impact of the coronavirus outbreak.

According to Marca, the hierarchy at the Spanish club have decided not to officially move for the World Cup winner until PSG are ready to part ways with him as there is 'complete respect between the two clubs'.

Mbappe, who also continues to be linked with Liverpool, has scored 107 goals in 149 appearances in all competitions for his current side since arriving from Monaco.
