Report: Bolivar aim to take David Beckham out of retirement

David Beckham could come out of retirement to play for Bolivian champions Bolivar, according to a report.

David Beckham is a transfer target for Bolivian champions Bolivar, a report suggests.

The former England captain, 38, retired at the end of last season after winning the Ligue 1 championship with Paris Saint-Germain.

Since then, Beckham has been trying to set up a new MLS franchise.

However, The Mirror claims that Bolivar, who are owned by billionaire Marcelo Claure, are engineering a move that would see Beckham come out of retirement to play in the club's Copa Libertadores matches.

Claure is reportedly involved in financing Beckham's purchase of a franchise, while the newspaper quotes Bolivar's president Guido Loayza as saying that the deal could happen for a "couple of games in the Copa Libertadores".

Beckham also appeared for Manchester United, Real Madrid, Los Angeles Galaxy and AC Milan during his career.
