Troyes coach Jean-Marc Furlan believes that his side's progress to the semi-finals of Coupe de France is "good" for their season.
The Ligue 1 strugglers got the better of Nancy 3-0 at home in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.
"It's a nice result for us," he told reporters. "The Cup is special. You never know what is going to unfold and it puts you in a totally different state of mind. It was a semi-final [that we were playing for] and I am very pleased that the players have responded accordingly.
"It took us until half time to gauge the task at hand. We must not forget that we lost to PSG in the league last weekend, and we still had to manage that disappointment. I told the players at half time we were not playing quickly enough. After that, we sped up our play.
"It ended perfectly for us. We are in the semi-finals and that's good for our season. This is a great group of players to manage. We still have a goal in the league as well - to show that we are a tough team to beat."
Troyes are currently at the foot of the Ligue 1 table, while Nancy are third from bottom.
