Udinese edge past Genoa

Emanuele Calaio's own goal in the 80th minute hands Udinese a home win against Genoa in Serie A.

Udinese have registered a narrow 1-0 victory over Genoa at the Stadio Friuli in Serie A.

In what proved to be a goalless first half, Maicosuel had the first chance in the 22th minute but failed to keep his long-range effort on target.

Moussa Konate saw his shot from the right side of the Udinese box saved, before Danilo failed to keep his header on target from an Antonio Di Natale delivery for the hosts.

Di Natale himself tried his luck towards the end of the first 45 minutes but in vain and Naldo missed his chance just before the hour mark.

Hosts Udinese pressed on for the breakthrough which they got 10 minutes from time. Di Natale floated in a free kick from the left and Emanuele Calaio headed it into his own net to hand the Bianconeri all three points.
