The Group D clash between Ukraine and France has been suspended due to heavy downpour and flashes of lightning.
The contest was called off for the time being five minutes into play after light rain turned into treacherous conditions as lightning struck.
As the storm began to intensify, referee Bjorn Kuipers decided to urge the players off the field, which was followed by advice to supporters to get as far away from the downpour as possible.
UEFA have confirmed that a decision regarding the status of the match in Donetsk will be decided at 6pm but no play will resume before that time.
If the storm fails to pass, it is understood that the game will be replayed tomorrow.
